1.) Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Manager – Nigeria & WIMA

What You will Do for Us

  • Identify potential regulatory risks and opportunities and ensure tracking of local, regional and global regulatory issues and emerging trends that impact the reputation of our ingredients, products, packaging, brands, etc.
  • Implement globally aligned regulatory advocacy strategies to mitigate current risks and future headwinds that may impact our ingredients, products, packaging, claims, labeling, communication, marketing, etc.
  • Build, maintain, enhance and develop relationships/networks with external experts, government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on issues relating to food regulations, food safety, nutrition and health, etc to advance The Coca-Cola Company strategy, growth agenda and positions.
  • Lead and engage in industry/trade associations and food standards bodies so as to advocate industry/company positions to protect our business and enable growth.
  • Provide regulatory affairs expertise and guidance to the system to identify solutions to regulatory issues that affect our products, ingredients, nutrition regulations or labeling.
  • Establish regulatory strategies to gain government approvals and international standards (e.g., Codex) for new ingredients, products, labeling, or packaging to support innovation collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as the global Scientific & Regulatory Affairs team, R&D, Legal, and trade associations.
  • Where appropriate, represent the Company at appropriate global industry organizations and international food standards bodies (e.g., Codex) and provide leadership to external stakeholders such as global food and beverage industry groups to influence outcomes and support our regulatory strategies.
  • Proactively work with Public Affairs & Communication, Marketing, Legal and Governmental Affairs areas to enable the credibility and reputation of our brands and company.
  • Provide expert support on issues related to Crisis Management (IMCR).
  • Ensure that all ingredients, formulas, products, labels, food contact materials, packaging, promotional materials and marketing communications comply with all the relevant local regulations and The Coca-Cola Company’s policies and guidelines.
  • Support innovation and commercialization compliance by providing scientific and regulatory expertise on new product concept/new ingredients.
  • Manage ingredient, formula, product, package, label, claims and communication approvals using various compliance related tools EG., Picasso, CokeWorks, etc.
  • Develop and manage internal processes, databases and tools to facilitate regulatory compliance processes.
  • Support and lead the development and implementation of efficient and effective regulatory compliance systems, process and tools including considering digitization, outsourcing to 3rd parties or bottlers.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities as appropriate to support new product/package launches including efficient sanitary registrations.
  • Develop and manage internal processes, databases and tools to facilitate regulatory compliance processes.
  • Participate in Scientific & Regulatory related Incident Management Crisis Resolution.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 6 – 8 years of experience in food industry, government or related industry in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated advocacy experience and leadership roles in related external organizations/committees/boards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills and must be fluent in English and fluency in other international/relevant languages in the Operating Unit.

2.) Tax & Accounting Analyst

Job Title: Tax & Accounting Analyst

Position Overview

  • The Tax and Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting the Legal Entity Controller(LEC) for Nigeria on compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, Taxes and other local accounting regulations, as well as company accounting policies.
  • More specifically, assist in facilitating and review of extracting, analyzing, and collating information used in responses to Revenue Authorities’ audits and also as routine requests for information from them.
  • Support tax inspections/audits from the local Revenue Authorities.
  • This role is also responsible for supporting the Controllership team and Corporate Tax Counsel in the implementation of new tax laws in Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance – 40%:

  • Extract information from SAP, archives and liaise with Operating Unit and Franchise Unit departments and Platform Services teams to obtain supporting information required for tax audits and authority’s request for additional information.
  • Analyze, compile and present supporting information required by routine tax authority’s information requests and audits in collaboration with Corporate Tax and EY.
  • Prepare the monthly VAT and Withholding Taxes Computations, Returns  and payment requests  and prepare related journal vouchers  for posting into the ledger.
  • Prepare the Quarterly tax computations for income tax and related journal vouchers  for posting into the ledger.
  • Assist LEC on provisional income tax computation for quarterly reporting under USGAAP.
  • Prepare annual tax calculation, return and accompanying tax schedules for review by LEC.
  • Support  monthly reconciliation of tax related GL accounts and follow up of reconciling items.
  • Assist LEC in the quarterly update of the Deferred Tax listing of permanent and temporary difference for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Research and respond to ad hoc tax queries and related assignments as may be allocated by the LEC.

Statutory Audit and Compliance – 30%:

  • Own tax compliance review by EY Tax every month and quarter.
  • Ensure our transactions are incompliance with standard practice and procedures of company.
  • Ensure our accounting records and local financial statements are ready for statutory audit.
  • Ensure Balance Sheet analysis are properly and timely performed and supported.
  • Provide all documentation and information required by auditors properly and timely.
  • Support LEC on tax compliance review of EY, statutory audit (IFRS) and tax authority’s audit, in regards to the answers to queries.

USGAAP and Local GAAP Reporting – 30%:

  • Support the local GAAP financial statements preparation and related reviews.
  • Support for quarterly review of the local GAAP financial statements and act upon accordingly.
  • Support for interacting with other areas, such Intercompany, Payroll and Procure to pay teams.
  • Assist LEC on the Monthly review of the balance sheet analysis, followed by applicable comments in order to request action plans to solve aged or incorrect items with the Operating Unit.
  • Support other areas relative to company accounting issues to ensure the correct application of corporate tax and legal requirements.
  • Support LEC on communication of Month-end and Year-end close with Genpact and IS FS Teams to meet the monthly deadlines.
  • Support LEC during Internal Audits (CAD)

Role Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Coca-Cola system or equivalent multinational environment.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and writing) and has excellent communication skills;
  • Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP and local Tax Compliance
  • Experience with internal and external Audits.

Job Description Summary
What You will Do for Us:

  • Implement commercial and capability plans on Value to Market /Road to Market (and consumer) that support topline revenue growth and margin expansion expanding the system capability and right cost structure for profitability in Road to Market as well as using Value to Market (Value to Market) to determine best approach to reach the consumer within the occasion we are targeting.
  • Leverage superior understanding of all key execution levers to accelerate on Distribution, Equipment management, Salesforce effectiveness, Out-of-stocks & Cost-To-Serve Optimization using Road to Market framework (sense, shape and service) and thus grow topline (revenue expansion) and bottom line growth (cost to serve management)

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8-10 years of leadership experience in Commercial planning and commercial execution with strong skills in Road to Market / Value to Market, Innovation and Channel strategy.
  • Proven system knowledge including Road to Market and Customer, deep understanding of the complexities of the System such as bottler economics and system leverages, processes and tools in order to optimize solutions with our customers across channels
  • Solid understanding of System business fundamentals and drivers of growth/value across a broad range of markets and business dimensions, advanced commercial finance skills
  • This role must be able to influence bottlers investments in required VTM capability to achieve our category growth ambition.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional support and cross-system alignment, not least leading and smoothly running alignment and collaboration to ensure that OU RTM strategies are fully owned by GMs and the system across the OU
